Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to accurately determine client needs. Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and psychodynamic therapy. Provide individual, group, family, and youth therapy sessions via telehealth or in-person settings, ensuring adherence to clinical documentation standards and HIPAA regulations. Implement crisis management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to ensure client safety during acute episodes. Engage in case management activities, coordinating care with medical professionals, social workers, educators, and family members to support comprehensive patient care. Maintain detailed clinical documentation including progress notes, treatment plans, medical records, and billing codes (CPT/ICD coding) using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as EMR/EHR platforms. Stay current with research developments in mental health counseling, addiction counseling, grief counseling, and specialized areas like autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or Geriatrics to enhance therapeutic effectiveness. Requirements Master's degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling or related field; licensure or certification as required by state law (e.g., LCSW, LPC). Proven experience working with children, adolescents, or adults with mental health conditions; experience with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of clinical counseling techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavior management strategies, and trauma-focused approaches. Familiarity with
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding systems for diagnostic evaluation and medical documentation standards. Experience working in outpatient clinics, inpatient settings or telehealth environments; hospital experience is a plus. Ability to handle crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention skills and crisis management protocols. Excellent communication skills for client engagement and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams; proficiency in clinical documentation standards is essential.
