ABOUT THE EAGLE HOUSE PRTF
Eagle House is a 24-bed psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF) that serves as a step down, or diversion, from inpatient hospitalization for children ages 6-12 who present with severe emotional and behavioral difficulties due to significant trauma history. Eagle House helps prepare them for transition to community-based treatment, and/or a family or foster care setting, through providing intensive clinical support services like ongoing psychiatry and nursing evaluations, individual, group, and family therapy sessions, case management, and special education services. Youth are typically in the program for around 4 months. We use a trauma-informed model of care to build relationships with youth in order to stabilize them and help them improve overall functioning. Through building supportive and therapeutic relationships with the youth, members of the multi-disciplinary team help guide them through crisis when they arise by reinforcing the use of healthy coping skills to build emotional regulation, so they will be more prepared to manage stressors and interact positively with peers and adults when they transition back into a community setting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The clinician will provide individual therapy, group therapy and family therapy in the program, collaborate with collateral providers, provide on-call clinical support to the program (by phone only), provide clinical leadership and assistance to direct care staff in working with children in crisis, maintain clinical documentation according to licensing, accreditation, and Medicaid regulations as appropriate, attend and facilitate treatment meetings for clients, maintain insurance authorization on each client by conducting initial and monthly authorizations, and conduct clinical in-service trainings for program staff. Caseload is typically 5-6 due to the intensive nature of the clinical treatment. Additionally, they will: Participate in regular consultation and training. Engage in intake, assessment, diagnosing, and discharge planning, using a trauma informed approach. Provide individual, group and family therapy in the program. Provide treatment in conjunction with multidisciplinary team. Participate in weekly individual and group supervision and training to ensure professional growth and needed skills in trauma informed treatment. Participate in and facilitate clients' treatment meetings. Ensure adherence to organizational and program policies and procedures. Contribute to program and agency's functioning by providing clinical guidance/direction to program staff. Opportunity to contribute to the agency initiatives, visibility, and development of community linkages by assisting on task force and or representing the Village in community groups or committees.
