We are especially interested in clinicians who enjoy working with children, adolescents, and families. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide outpatient mental health services in a supportive and professional environment that values compassion, cultural diversity, ethical practice, and professional growth. The ideal candidate is patient, creative, reliable, and passionate about helping children navigate emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. Experience working with children is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply. Candidates who are willing to learn child-focused interventions, including play therapy techniques, are strongly encouraged to apply. As a Child Therapist, you will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide individual and family therapy services aimed at supporting children's emotional regulation, coping skills, resilience, and overall well-being. Responsibilities Conduct mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations for children, adolescents, and families to identify clinical needs and develop individualized treatment plans. Provide individual and family therapy sessions using appropriate evidence-based interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy, play-based interventions, behavioral therapy, and other child-focused approaches. Use age-appropriate therapeutic techniques to help children express emotions, improve coping skills, and address behavioral or emotional concerns. Provide crisis intervention and support when needed to ensure client safety and well-being. Complete treatment plans, progress notes, assessments, and all required clinical documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations, Medicaid/insurance requirements, company policies, and clinical ethical guidelines. Collaborate with parents, caregivers, schools, case managers, medical providers, and other professionals when needed to support the child's treatment goals. Participate in clinical supervision, training, and professional development opportunities. Provide services in person, via telehealth, or hybrid depending on client needs, availability, and program requirements. Skills Interest in working with children, adolescents, and families is required. Experience working with children with emotional, behavioral, developmental, or family-related concerns is preferred. Experience or willingness to learn play therapy and child-focused therapeutic interventions is strongly preferred. Knowledge of evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, behavioral interventions, motivational interviewing, and crisis management is a plus. Ability to complete mental health assessments, treatment plans, and clinical documentation professionally and accurately. Must be comfortable using electronic medical record systems, telehealth platforms, and other clinical technology. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with children, parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to provide culturally sensitive care that respects diverse backgrounds and promotes an inclusive therapeutic environment. Must be reliable, professional, flexible, organized, and open to feedback. New graduates are welcome to apply. Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field required.
Active Maryland license preferred:
LCSW-C, LCSW, LMSW, LCPC, LGPC, LCMFT, or related clinical license. Candidates seeking clinical supervision are encouraged to apply. Bilingual candidates are a plus, but not required. Job Types Full-time Part-time Contract Pay $45.00 - $60.00 per hour, based on license level, experience, and position type. Schedule Flexible hours.
