Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Therapist licensed in the state of Maryland to join our team. Candidates will only be considered if licensed in Maryland, or seeking licensure in Maryland (intern and LGPC). The ideal candidate will provide individual and group counseling services to clients, utilizing various therapeutic approaches to support mental wellness. This role requires a strong understanding of behavioral therapy techniques, crisis intervention strategies, and case management practices. The therapist will work within a clinical setting, addressing the needs of diverse populations, including first responders. Driftwood Psychotherapy specializes in the needs of the first responder community. The ideal candidate will have some knowledge or background as a first responder (fire / EMS, police, corrections, dispatch) but this is not mandatory. Currently we are expanding. For now we are seeking therapists who want to work from home. or in our office or both.... you choose. Responsibilities Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address clients' mental health needs. Provide direct support to clients in crisis situations, facilitating immediate intervention and support. Develop and maintain comprehensive case management plans tailored to each client's unique circumstances. Engage in research activities to stay updated on best practices in mental health therapy. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals within the clinic to ensure holistic care for clients. Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and treatment plans in compliance with coding standards. Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities. Requirements Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. Valid licensure as a Mental Health Therapist or equivalent certification in the State of Maryland, USA to include interns and LGPC's. Experience in individual group counseling and behavioral therapy is preferred. Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and case management practices. Familiarity with first responder (fire / EMS, police, corrections, dispatch) mental health issues is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds. Commitment to ethical practice and maintaining client confidentiality.
