About the position The Mental Health Therapist provides individual, family, and group psychotherapy to children and families involved in adoption, foster care, kinship, and guardianship systems. This position is specifically seeking a therapist for the Annandale, Virginia location. This position is a hybrid position, with a few days per week in the office and a few days of remote work. Responsibilities include conducting psychosocial assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering trauma informed, attachment focused care while collaborating with relevant service systems. The ideal candidate holds a master's degree in a related field, maintains an active independent clinical license, and has several years of experience working with diverse populations, preferably within child welfare. The position offers flexible scheduling, clinical supervision, continuing education opportunities, and professional development support, along with required training in adoption of competency and telehealth.

LOCATION

Annandale, Virginia Note:

This is a hybrid position. 2-3 days will be in person in the Annandale, VA office and the other days will be virtual/remote.

POSITION RESPONSIBLITIES

Provide adoption-competent individual, family, and group psychotherapy to foster, kinship and adoptive children and their families as well as adult adoptees and their families Conduct adoption-competent initial psychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans Perform other duties as required

Clinical Knowledge:

Possesses solid general clinical knowledge including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, case collaboration, intervention and discharge planning Has general knowledge on child development of adoption-competent clinical care, through specialized training and ongoing clinical supervision and consultation Possesses knowledge of related adjunctive services that can support treatment Preferred foundational adoption and foster care clinical knowledge Possesses working knowledge of interfacing with private and public social service systems Possesses working knowledge and understanding of adoption, foster, and kinship care systems. Possesses thorough understanding of child welfare client population and post institutionalized children. Possesses awareness of interventions for children and families that are trauma-informed, strengthen attachment, and tend to grief and loss. Possesses knowledge of laws or willingness to learn about laws that govern confidentiality and treatment of children in foster care.

Expected Trainings:

Will complete NTI (required online training, offered and covered by C.A.S.E.) within 3 months of employment Will complete TAC training (required online training, offered and covered by C.A.S.E.) within 18 months of employment Complete telehealth training within 6 months of employment Other trainings provided and recommended by the clinical department

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

: 1. Master's degree in counseling, social work, or marriage and family counseling 2. Independent clinical licensure required (LCSW, LPC, LCPC), active and in good standing 3. 4 to 6 years clinical experience (individual, group, and/or family therapy); experience working with adopted, foster or kinship youth preferred 4. Demonstrated understanding of loss, grief, attachment, and trauma 5. Commitment to providing culturally competent services with diverse client populations.

SALARY:

The salary range for this position is $64,000 to $95,000 annually . Final compensation will be commensurate with licensure, certification, and experience.
