Responsibilities Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify mental health conditions. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based therapies like psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis, and crisis intervention strategies. Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions focused on mental health counseling, grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, gender issues counseling, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism. Utilize telehealth platforms to deliver remote therapy sessions while maintaining HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality. Manage medical documentation meticulously by recording patient care activities, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in accordance with medical records standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, case managers, psychiatrists (psychopharmacology), and special education professionals to ensure comprehensive patient support. Engage in clinical research and data collection efforts to improve therapeutic approaches and patient outcomes within behavioral health settings. Qualifications Master's degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling or related field from an accredited institution. Valid full licensure or certification as a licensed master social worker (LMSW), licensed professional counselor (LPC), or equivalent in your state. Proven experience in outpatient mental health settings with familiarity in clinic experience and hospital environments preferred. Strong knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical terminology. Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance/movement therapy or applied behavior analysis. Proficiency in crisis management techniques including crisis intervention and behavior management strategies. Excellent communication skills for intake assessments and patient care documentation; ability to work effectively via telehealth platforms is essential.
