Job Description

Our Promise Inc. is growing, and we're looking for a reliable, compassionate, and consistent Outpatient Therapist who wants the flexibility of creating their own schedule while providing meaningful support to individuals throughout North Carolina. This is a part-time 1099 contractor position with opportunities to grow as our OPT program and caseload continue to expand. About the Position You'll provide Outpatient Therapy (OPT) through virtual and community-based sessions. We serve individuals throughout North Carolina, so this position is ideal for a clinician who enjoys flexibility and community-based work rather than being tied to an office all day. You'll start with at least 2 clients who may be seen up to twice weekly, based on their treatment needs and plan. Initial clients are also receiving Peer Support Services and are currently considered lower-risk; however, clinicians remain responsible for conducting their own ongoing clinical and safety assessments and responding appropriately to any changes in risk. Some clients participating in Peer Support may already have a Comprehensive Clinical Assessment (CCA) completed. You may also be assigned to complete CCAs for new or existing clients as needed. What You'll Do Provide individualized outpatient therapy to assigned clients. Provide sessions virtually and/or in the community based on client needs and appropriateness. Develop, maintain, review, and update individualized treatment plans for your therapy clients. Complete timely, accurate, individualized clinical documentation. Complete CCAs when assigned and within your credential/scope. Assess client needs, progress, functioning, and safety throughout treatment. Coordinate appropriately with Peer Support, QPs, and other members of the client's care team while maintaining appropriate clinical boundaries and confidentiality. Maintain consistent contact with assigned clients. Manage your own therapy schedule and communicate scheduling changes directly with clients. Attend required Our Promise Inc. staff meetings, trainings, and agency events. Follow agency policies, payer requirements, applicable NC requirements, professional ethics, and documentation standards. Communicate promptly with leadership when concerns arise that could affect continuity of care. Stay in compliance and present as audit-proof. Flexibility & Time Away You create your own schedule. We want clinicians to have flexibility while also making sure our clients receive consistent care. When planning vacation or extended time away, therapists are expected to: Notify affected clients in advance. Make appropriate arrangements for continuity of care. Provide clients with the Our Promise Inc. office number when agency support may be needed during the therapist's absence. Appropriately address urgent or safety-related needs according to agency procedures. If a client has not been seen for 30 days, the therapist is responsible for reviewing whether continued OPT remains appropriate and completing the appropriate documentation, outreach, discharge, or documented clinical justification consistent with agency and payer requirements. Compensation $55.55 - $66.33/hour 1099 Independent Contractor This is a part-time contractor opportunity and does not include employee benefits or overtime. Compensation is for approved, completed services/work according to the contractor agreement, agency requirements, and applicable billing/documentation standards. Who We're Looking For We aren't simply looking for someone who can fill an opening. We need someone who shows up. Our clients need consistency. Many are already navigating significant life circumstances, and having another professional repeatedly cancel, disappear, or fail to follow through can create another unnecessary barrier. We're looking for someone who is: Reliable Consistent Person-Centered Compassionate Organized Professional Comfortable Working Independently Strong With Documentation Community-Minded Applicants must possess an appropriate North Carolina behavioral-health license/associate license and be legally permitted to provide the assigned services within their credential and scope of practice. Credentialing/enrollment requirements applicable to the position must also be met. Why Our Promise Inc.? Our Promise is a growing community-based behavioral health agency built around a simple belief: People deserve support that actually shows up. We're creating an environment where clinicians have independence and flexibility without losing the connection and support of a team. You'll have the opportunity to start with a small caseload, develop relationships with your clients, create a schedule that works for you, and potentially grow your caseload and role as the agency continues expanding. We're looking to fill this position quickly, but finding someone dependable and aligned with our mission matters more than simply filling a seat. Our Promise Inc. Here to support you on day 1 or day 6000.
