Job Description The Therapist or Counselor is a therapeutic guide for clients on their road to recovery, from admission through discharge. The therapist will be assisting clients from admission, including assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, individual and group therapy sessions and occasional crisis intervention services. Clients are adults struggling with mental health, addiction and or Co-Occurring/dual diagnosis disorders in an intensive outpatient facility. The Therapist/counselor should have characteristics such as highly developed interpersonal communication skills, empathy and compassion, ability to take on multiple tasks, and ability to maintain a professional yet supportive relationship with clients. Responsibilities Maintains all clinical documentation with in a EHR system. (Kipu) Completes the Biopsychosocial and other clinical assessments for including risk assessments as needed. May conduct psychological assessments, including psychological test administration, interpretation, and recommendations when applicable. Prepare intake summaries, treatment plans, and case summaries and maintains ongoing confidential records. Completes the Comprehensive Treatment Plan and Integrated Treatment Summary. Write the required Treatment Reviews, UR's, Progress/session notes, and Discharge Summaries in a timely manner. Conducts Individual psychotherapy sessions. Conducts Group Therapy Conducts Conjoint family psychotherapy sessions (when applicable.) Facilitates group therapy sessions of their choice in modality, as well as may facilitate exposure and therapeutic outings with entire milieu. Meets with each client in individual session'(s) as often as clinically indicated. Works closely and takes direction from acting clinical director. Is appropriately accessible to colleges, clients and client's family members. Meets with clients within twenty-four hours of admission to establish therapeutic rapport. Facilitates group therapy sessions that include, your preferred modality, Education workshops, process groups, and or facilitate variety of other types of group therapy modalities as directed by the program schedule (DBT, CBT, Experiential, Art Therapy, Recreation Therapy, trauma focused etc.) Can assess suicidality and possibility for danger to self or others if needed Identify and assist the clients in reaching treatment and life goals. Charts after individual sessions, group therapy, and family session for timely submission of documentation. Educates each client as needed on Mental Health, Addiction and Dual Diagnosis. Begins and ends groups timely and maintains group rules and boundaries with clients. May help with a written plan for continuing care (DC plan) and discharge summaries. Attends all clinical staffing meetings, in-service trainings, and general staff meetings. Utilizes resources of public and private agencies and community organizations to meet the needs of the client's treatment to include referral of the client and/or client's family to external resources, as appropriate. Participates in departmental program development, implementation and evaluation. This is a full or part-time position with some weekends may be Required. Qualifications Must have AMFT, MFT, LCSW, PhD or Psy-D or Licensed Counselor in an appropriate field. Must demonstrate tact, initiative, resourcefulness, a professional manner, enthusiasm, and a non-judgmental attitude. Familiar with therapeutic modalities and experiences in facilitating groups focused on different modalities such as

DBT, CBT

etc. Can facilitate Psychoeducational/didactic groups, Family Dynamics, Exposure Therapy etc. Knowledge of working with trauma and other co-occurring diagnoses that accompany mental health or addiction a plus.
