Pay:

We understand that mental health and relationships are shaped by more than individual experiences. Culture, identity, migration, family expectations, gender roles, religion, race, community, and intergenerational patterns can all influence how people experience distress, connection, conflict, and healing. We are seeking a thoughtful, relational Couples and Individual Therapist who has formal training in an evidence-based or evidence-informed couples therapy model and is also comfortable providing individual psychotherapy to adults. The Role This therapist will maintain a mixed telehealth caseload of couples and individual adult clients. The position begins with a consistent part-time caseload of at least 15 completed sessions per week, with the opportunity to grow into a full-time role based on client demand, clinician availability, performance, and mutual fit. The ideal clinician understands that couples therapy is a distinct clinical specialty requiring structure, relational assessment, emotional attunement, and the ability to remain balanced during conflict. What You'll Do Provide virtual couples and individual therapy to clients located in New Jersey Maintain a minimum of 15 completed client sessions per week Conduct thorough clinical and relationship assessments Develop clear, individualized treatment plans Use a structured, evidence-based or evidence-informed couples therapy approach Help couples improve communication, navigate conflict, rebuild trust, strengthen intimacy, and create healthier relationship patterns Support couples experiencing cultural, religious, intergenerational, parenting, family-boundary, or identity-related concerns Provide individual therapy for concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationships, identity, life transitions, family stress, and intergenerational patterns Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation Participate in team consultation, meetings, training, and professional development Collaborate with the administrative team regarding referrals, scheduling, and client needs Coordinate referrals or higher levels of care when clinically indicated Contribute ideas for future couples groups, premarital programs, relationship workshops, or community offerings Required Qualifications Current New Jersey license as an LMFT, LAMFT, LPC, LAC, LCSW, or LSW Experience providing couples therapy Formal training in an established couples therapy approach, such as: Gottman Method Couples Therapy Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy Relational Life Therapy Another structured, evidence-based or evidence-informed couples therapy model Experience providing individual psychotherapy to adults Ability to maintain at least 15 completed client sessions per week Strong clinical judgment, communication, boundaries, and documentation skills Commitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed, inclusive care Ability to work independently while collaborating with a supportive clinical team Associate-licensed clinicians must meet all applicable New Jersey supervision requirements. Preferred Qualifications Advanced or certification-level training in a couples therapy modality Experience working with South Asian, Asian, multicultural, immigrant, first-generation, intercultural, interfaith, or interracial couples Experience addressing: Communication and recurring conflict Emotional disconnection Trust and infidelity recovery Premarital concerns Parenting and co-parenting differences Extended-family boundaries Gender expectations and emotional labor Intimacy concerns Cultural or religious differences Major life transitions Training in EMDR, CBT, ACT, DBT, IFS-informed therapy, psychodynamic therapy, or another established individual therapy approach Interest in developing relationship-focused groups, workshops, or educational programs Availability for some afternoon or evening appointments What We Offer Part-time W2 employment Opportunity to grow into a full-time position Flexible scheduling within agreed-upon practice and client-care needs Established referral and marketing support Administrative, scheduling, billing, and credentialing support Professional development and peer consultation Supervision toward LPC licensure for eligible LACs.
