Job Description

Licensed Mental Health Counselor Engage Counseling & Wellness is a growing private practice in Charleston, South Carolina, dedicated to helping clients regain clarity, balance, and direction in their lives. We are seeking a compassionate, dependable mental health counselor to join our team as an independent contractor. The ideal clinician is committed to providing evidence-based, personalized care in a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment. Our practice serves individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds. We support clients navigating concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, family dynamics, life transitions, self-esteem, ADHD, autism, substance use, career challenges, and work-life balance. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who values autonomy, meaningful client relationships, professional collaboration, and being part of a welcoming, growth-oriented practice. Responsibilities Provide individual, couples, or family counseling based on your experience and areas of clinical focus Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized treatment plans Use evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to each client's needs and goals Maintain timely, accurate, and confidential clinical documentation Monitor client progress and update treatment plans as appropriate Coordinate care with other professionals when clinically necessary and authorized by the client Follow all applicable ethical, legal, privacy, and professional standards Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and sound clinical judgment Participate in team communication and consultation as appropriate Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive experience for every client Qualifications Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or a closely related field Current South Carolina clinical license or associate license in good standing, such as LPC, LPC-A, LMFT, LMFT-A, LISW-CP, or LMSW Professional liability insurance Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic approaches Ability to work independently while remaining communicative and collaborative Commitment to ethical, culturally responsive, and client-centered care Dependable, organized, and comfortable managing an independent caseload Experience in a private-practice or outpatient setting is preferred Clinicians Who May Be a Great Fit We welcome clinicians with experience or interest in areas such as: Anxiety, stress, and depression Trauma and PTSD Grief and loss Relationships, couples, and family dynamics Life transitions and personal growth Self-esteem, identity, and boundaries ADHD and autism support Addiction and substance-use concerns Eating disorders and body image Career navigation and work-life balance Faith-integrated counseling EMDR, Brainspotting, IFS, CBT, ACT, attachment-based, somatic, or other evidence-based approaches Specialization in every area listed above is not expected. Schedule:
