Job Summary To Apply for this Job Click Here Salt Lake City, UT Full-Time | Competitive Salary + Comprehensive Benefits Are you passionate about helping individuals living with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders achieve recovery and independence? First Step House is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our multidisciplinary behavioral health team in Salt Lake City, Utah. In this role, you will provide evidence-based clinical services to adults experiencing mental health and substance use challenges while collaborating with a team committed to delivering high-quality, person-centered care. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client needs and goals. Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based practices. Deliver therapeutic interventions for individuals experiencing serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation. Collaborate with psychiatrists, case managers, peer support specialists, and community partners to coordinate care. Participate in treatment team meetings, case consultations, and clinical supervision as appropriate. Support clients in developing coping skills, recovery goals, emotional regulation, and community integration. Maintain compliance with all state, federal, ethical, and organizational standards. Qualifications Required Master's degree (MSW, MS, MA) in Social Work, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a closely related behavioral health field from an accredited program. Current Utah licensure or license-eligible status in one of the following: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Associate-level licensure candidates (CSW-I, ACMHC, AMFT) are encouraged to apply and must be actively working toward independent licensure under supervision. Minimum of two (2) years of post-graduate clinical experience. Strong assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic intervention skills. Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills. Preferred Experience in community mental health, public-sector behavioral health, or programs serving adults with serious mental illness. Experience working with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
