Licensed Child Therapist (Play Therapy Focus) - (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, Psychologist) Location Newport News, VA Job Type 1099 Contractor | Flexible Schedule About Us Mindful Communication Group (MCG) is a therapist-owned, multidisciplinary practice providing holistic, client-centered care to children, adolescents, adults, and families. Our services include outpatient mental health therapy, pediatric therapy services, and Early Intervention, allowing us to support the whole individual across settings. We are committed to delivering developmentally appropriate, evidence-based care while maintaining a collaborative and supportive environment for both clients and clinicians. Position Overview We are seeking a licensed child therapist with experience in play-based interventions to join our team. This is an in-office role designed for clinicians who want flexibility while also having access to consistent referrals and a structured, supportive environment. Responsibilities Provide play therapy and child-focused mental health services Utilize developmentally appropriate, evidence-based, and play-based interventions Address concerns including anxiety, behavioral challenges, emotional regulation, trauma, and social difficulties Conduct initial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EMR system Collaborate with caregivers to support progress and carryover of strategies Maintain a consistent weekly schedule and communicate availability clearly Uphold professional and ethical standards in all client interactions Schedule Expectations Minimum 7 sessions per week Evening availability required (at least 3 days per week) Weekend availability preferred Compensation 1099 Contractor Commensurate with experience, starting at $60 per clinical hour Qualifications Active Virginia license for independent clinical practice (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist) Master's or Doctorate in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
