Mindful Communication Group (MCG) Newport News, VA | Outpatient Mental Health 1099 Independent Contractor Primarily In-Person | Telehealth Available Based on Client Need Fully Licensed & License-Eligible Clinicians Encouraged to Apply Who We Are Mindful Communication Group (MCG) is a therapist-owned, multidisciplinary private practice committed to providing holistic, client-centered care to the individuals and families we serve. Our practice provides Mental Health Counseling and Speech-Language Therapy services, serving children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families across our programs. Our team includes professionals from multiple clinical disciplines who share a commitment to individualized care, collaboration, and helping clients make meaningful progress in their everyday lives. As MCG continues to grow, we are expanding our Mental Health Counseling team in Newport News, Virginia. We are seeking a clinician who is interested in building and maintaining a full-time outpatient caseload and growing with our practice. This opportunity is ideal for a clinician who values professional autonomy, enjoys developing meaningful therapeutic relationships, and wants the support and infrastructure of an established, growing group practice while maintaining control over their own availability. This is primarily an in-office position at our Newport News practice and is not an exclusively telehealth position. Clinicians should be prepared to provide their services in person. Telehealth sessions can be provided when requested by the client and when clinically appropriate. What You'll Do As an MCG Mental Health Therapist, you will: Provide outpatient psychotherapy within your scope of practice, training, and clinical competence. Conduct clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans. Provide evidence-based, client-centered mental health treatment. Maintain a consistent caseload based on your established availability. Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation. Monitor client progress and modify treatment approaches as clinically appropriate. Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, schools, and other professionals when clinically appropriate and authorized. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance. Communicate appropriately with MCG's administrative and clinical team regarding client care and practice needs. Education & Experience Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in an appropriate mental health discipline, including Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or another graduate program meeting Virginia requirements for the applicable credential. Must currently be a Virginia Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Resident in Counseling. Residents in Counseling must hold the appropriate active Virginia registration and be eligible to receive clinical supervision. MCG can provide clinical supervision for eligible Residents in Counseling . Experience providing counseling and/or psychotherapy services. Familiarity with multiple mental health diagnoses and experience serving adults and/or children and adolescents. Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and time-management skills. Ability to meet clinical documentation requirements and use an electronic health record. Interest and sufficient availability to build toward approximately 20-25 completed client sessions per week.
