Summary The Division of Genetics seeks a full-time genetic counselor to join the faculty of Baylor College of Medicine at

Children's. This position has a competitive salary and full benefits package. The successful candidate will join a division that includes clinical and biochemical geneticists and nine pediatric genetic counselors. Job Duties Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: Provide genetic counseling primarily for pediatric patients in outpatient and inpatient settings but will also provide genetic counseling for adult patients Review, elicit, and interpret family, medical and psychosocial histories Coordinate the genetic testing process with laboratory, physicians, and patients/families Work closely with geneticists, nurses, dieticians, social workers and other genetic counselors to coordinate patient care Participate in multidisciplinary clinics, departmental conferences, meetings, and student and resident teaching Reports to Genetics Division Chief Minimum Qualifications Qualified candidates must have graduated from an ABGC accredited genetic counseling training program and be board certified or board eligible with the American Board of Genetic Counselors. Candidates should also possess excellent interpersonal communication skills (written and oral), strong organizational skills, critical thinking skills, and eagerness to work in a team setting. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
