These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the National Park Service through the Experienced Services Program (ESP). Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an "at-will" relationship. The CPR/First Aid Instructor will develop and deliver standardized safety training that meets the requirements of recognized certifying bodies (e.g., American Safety & Health Institute, American Red Cross or American Heart Association). Training will occur once per month and be tailored to staff needs across park units.
Training Delivery:
Provide monthly in-person CPR and First Aid classes for GOGA staff, volunteers, and interns. Facilitate hands-on skills practice with appropriate equipment (manikins, AED trainers, first-aid supplies). Administer written and practical assessments necessary for certification. 25%
Curriculum & Coordination:
Prepare and update training materials to ensure alignment with current, nationally accepted safety standards Coordinate session scheduling, enrollment, class size limits, and logistics with the GOGA Volunteer & Internship Programs office. Document participation records, pass/fail outcomes, and certification issuance. 25%
Safety Compliance & Quality Assurance:
Ensure proper sanitization and safe handling of instructional equipment. Maintain instructor certifications and submit documentation to NPS as required. Provide recommendations for park-wide safety training improvements as needed. 25% Communication & Reporting Provide monthly summaries of training delivered, attendees, and completed certifications. Notify NPS of any issues impacting training delivery (e.g., equipment needs, curriculum updates, emergent safety guidance). 25%
Qualifications:
HS/GED Degree in N/A Demonstrated experience teaching emergency medical response courses. Able to transport instructional equipment if needed and set up classroom environments. Play CPR videos from own laptop computer Video software to run CPR training videos

Required Certifications:
Valid CPR/ First Aid Instructor certification from an accredited provider. Physical requirements: Ability to stand and move around a classroom or training space for extended periods (up to 3 hours per session). Ability to kneel, bend, and transition to/from the floor repeatedly in order to demonstrate
CPR, AED
use, and first-aid procedures. Ability to lift, carry, and set up training equipment such as manikins, AED trainers, and first-aid supplies (typically 25-40 lbs). Sufficient hand-strength and dexterity to demonstrate chest compressions and other hands-on skills according to certifying-body standards. Visual and auditory ability to observe participant performance and provide corrective instruction. Ability to transport instructional equipment between storage locations and training sites as needed. Work occurs primarily indoors in classroom environments, with occasional movement between buildings or facilities.
