They will also facilitate health campaigns and outreach that promote Erie services, support transitions to adult care, and coordinate external services, such as dental and vision care. The Health Educator will also contribute to Erie-wide efforts around education, outreach, and resource navigation. This position will allow Erie to provide the necessary education for young people to lead healthy lives. This position is a paid year-long program that includes on-the-job mentorship that will build the leadership capacity in the candidate.
Member Duties :
Coordinates 1:1 nutrition/health coaching meeting with students. Implements health education curriculums to students in schools and community organizations. Coordinates Vision Specialists to see students at school. Coordinates the Advocate Dental Van to see students at school. Develops monthly adolescent health topics to address on health center bulletin boards and newsletters. Hosts health promotions activities in the lunchroom and at school events. Supports promotion, recruitment and engagement of Erie's School Based Advisory Board and the Youth Advisory Committee. Facilitates projects in collaboration with school-based health leadership and staff to decrease barriers and increase engagement in health center initiatives.
