Job Description

Work Study Peer Educator Posting Details Position Information Title Work Study Peer Educator Position Description BSU Peer Educators are a group of undergraduate students who work in the Alcohol and Drug Program at the Wellness Center. They offer educational fun interactive programs and events addressing alcohol/other drug issues, addiction, and recovery to reduce risk for a substance use disorder.
Responsibilities include:
Develop and implement specialized alcohol/drug education and related health campaigns. Actively participate in all scheduled BSU Peer Educator team meetings during the semester. The BSU Peer Educators meeting time will be determined based on schedules. Provide supervisor with hours of availability and notify of changes in schedule. Complete weekly office hour (s). Assist with presenting alcohol and drug education programs to campus groups or at tables. Promote BSU Peer Educators on campus by being involved and demonstrating enthusiasm and pride in the program. Complete all paperwork on time, meeting deadlines and requests. Have the opportunity to attend regional and national conferences to share our ideas and gain knowledge from other schools. Complete other tasks as assigned.
Eligibility requirements:
Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits for the Fall 2026 semester. Must have Work Study award in your financial aid package Preferred Qualifications Strong time management skills and ability to self-motivate and work independently once provided instruction. Previous experience with volunteer work, internship(s), job(s) and/or other community involvement. Ability to work collaboratively with staff and other students. Strong oral and written communication skills to convey ideas and information with other peers, supervisor and campus community. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Seeking experience working with peers in a leadership capacity.
