Job Description

NOTICE OF JOB POSTING POSITION TITLE
HEALTH
AGENT BOARD OF HEALTH UNITED STEELWORKERS
(USW) - GRADE 12 FULL-TIME (38 HOURS
PER WEEK
)
FULL PAY RANGE
$76,894.85 TO $103,353.49 PER
YEAR ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Public health inspections Ensuring compliance with State & Town Sanitation and Environmental Codes and regulations Witnessing soil and percolation tests in accordance with the rules and regulations for subsurface sewage disposal, reviews for approval, revision or disapproval of all applications or disposal works construction permits Works with businesses and individuals in mitigating environmental health problems Issues correction notices and write notices to obtain corrections Participates in All Hazards Emergency Preparedness, Response readiness and Recovery planning and related training sessions as well as tabletop exercises and functional drills to improve skills of inspectors and sanitarians to test the plans and rate performance Assist in some aspects of hazardous materials response
QUALIFICATIONS
Necessary Knowledge and Skills:
Knows and utilizes public health principles, practices, procedures and techniques Good communication skills Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Ability to: Ability to make inspections in tight/difficult spaces
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
B.S. in Public Health or equivalent Minimum of 3 years' experience in a recognized public health position 3 years' experience conducting public health inspections, preferably with a local Health Department The ability to obtain the following licenses/certifications: Lead Paint Determination, Certified Pool Operator, SERVSAFE and Soil Evaluator and Food Service Certification Valid driver's license Possess certification as a Mass. Registered Sanitarian or eligible to obtain certification within 18 months of hire Possess current Food Handlers Certification Diversity & Inclusion is a key component of our success as an organization.
