St. Louis, MO Incumbents in this position will be responsible for providing instruction and information to individuals and groups and counseling individuals regarding Behavioral Health Bureau Linkage to Care programs and services.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Conducts assessments and surveys to determine Behavioral Health educational needs. Collaborates with health specialists and stakeholders to set goals and achieve sustainable results. Develops plans and policies toward achieving health education objectives and monitors progress. Provides and coordinates services, referrals and helps individuals navigate behavioral health care services. Identifies community partners in creating a space for engagement, and collaboration; designed to connect individuals to supportive care. Designs and distributes health education material and aids, including pamphlets, notices, videos, audio clips, images, and posters. Assists with tracking calls, data and gaps in services; addressing mental health care in the community. Assesses individual needs; connecting them to appropriate community resources and maintaining communication to monitor progress. Facilitates health education events, workshops, outreach events, and presentations. Promotes health education initiatives via press releases, media campaigns, social media platforms, and websites. Identifies strategic partnerships with organizations and stakeholders that promote health education. Analyzes, evaluates, and reports public health data. Uses public health data to identify and establish community health needs in relation to mental health services. Provides staff, community agencies, and organizations with access to educational training. Maintains comprehensive program and activity records. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Extensive experience in collecting and analyzing data, as well as formulating objectives. Advanced ability to plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate health education programs. Ability to develop educational materials and aids and to promote and present health education initiatives. Ability to plan, develop, direct, and administer the work of a public health education unit or area of community need. Extensive experience in fostering strategic partnerships and coordinating objectives. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google Workplace. Comfort functioning in a role that requires a high degree of flexibility with the ability to independently interpret policies and solve non-routine, complex issues under minimal supervision. Aptitude for working in collaborative team environments focused on maturity, proactive communication, relationship-building skills, and resiliency. Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Community Health Education, Social Work, or a related field; plus two years of experience in Public Health, which should include some experience with human services, community education, or conducting health investigations; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

License:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license while employed by the City of St. Louis.
