8/1/2026 Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and student-centered Health Pathway Instructor to join our Career and Technical Education (CTE) team. This position will focus on Nutrition and Wellness, preparing high school students for careers in healthcare through hands-on, real-world learning experiences. The ideal candidate will bring both industry experience and a strong desire to support and mentor students as they explore careers in healthcare.Course Responsibilities:
Nutrition & Wellness (Health Education Embedded) The instructor will teach Nutrition and Wellness courses within the Health Pathway, which include embedded Health Education curriculum aligned with Ohio standards. This course focuses on helping students develop knowledge and practical skills related to personal health, nutrition, and overall well-being.Responsibilities include:
Deliver instruction in nutrition, wellness, and health education topics, including healthy eating, body systems, disease prevention, and lifestyle choices Integrate Ohio Health Education standards into daily instruction Guide students in developing personal wellness and nutrition plans Incorporate hands-on and project-based learning, such as meal planning, health tracking, and case studies Use real-world applications to connect health concepts to healthcare careers Promote health literacy, decision-making, and self-management skills Monitor and support student progress in both academic and career readiness skills Collaborate with other Health Pathway instructors to ensure alignment across courses Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging instruction in Allied Health pathway courses Prepare students for industry-recognized credentials and postsecondary opportunities Integrate real-world healthcare practices into classroom instruction Collaborate with industry partners to provide work-based learning opportunities Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment Track student progress and support academic and career readiness Participate in school and CTE program development activities Minimum Qualifications Candidates must meet one of the following requirements: Hold or be eligible for an Ohio CTE Teaching License in a health-related field AND Option 1: Bachelor's degree (4-year degree) in a related field + minimum 2 years of relevant work experience Option 2: Associate degree (2-year degree) in a related field + minimum 4 years of relevant work experience Preferred Qualifications Experience in Allied Health, Nursing, or clinical settings Previous teaching or training experience (formal or informal) Strong communication and classroom management skills Passion for working with high school students Industry certifications in Health Sciences are a plus What We Offer Support for obtaining/maintaining Ohio CTE licensure Collaborative and supportive team environment Opportunity to shape and grow a Health Pathway program Competitive salary and benefitsSimilar jobs in Columbus, OH
