In mental health services, trust and compatibility are some of the most important factors in building a thriving client and professional relationship. The Wellness and Recovery Center provides a community resource for people experiencing life's stresses, so they may enjoy a better quality of life, learn different ways to cope with adversity, and reduce the public cost of behavioral health crisis care for all community members. We are currently looking for additional Recovery Coaches to join our team for: - Tuesday/Thursday 2nd shift - 3rd shift contingent This position uses personal experiences of recovery in a professional capacity to promote hope for a life style outside of mental health services and to support learning about the process of recovery. The Recovery Coach will be responsible for providing recovery/peer services including: Skills Training Peer support Advocacy and collaboration with mental health providers Wellness planning Community resources And other support as requested The primary role is to function with compassion as a role model to guests, exhibiting competency in personal recovery and use of coping skills, serve as a community advocate, providing consumer information and peer support to guests in a respite setting. The Recovery Coach provides a wide range of tasks to assist guests in regaining independence within the community and mastery over their own recovery process. Work activities include communicating with supervisor and peers, implementing recovery plans with guests, documenting and recording information, establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships, resolving conflict and negotiating with others, maintain a professional work environment and assisting in duties related to maintaining household. This position is funded by a grant obtained through the Lucas County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board. The grant for this position requires that the person hired self discloses lived experience with mental illness and/or substance abuse disorder and be in active engagement with their recovery. With this background, the individual will possess the ability to perform duties of this position as a peer in recovery. Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen in accordance to federal guidelines.
