WELLNESS INSTRUCTOR
Position Number 350014 FLSA Status Non-Exempt Full Time/Part Time Temporary Salary $480 to $1,920 Monthly (Depending on Qualifications) Job Summary Under general direction, responsible for supporting the physical, nutritional, and overall well-being of employees through education, instruction, consultation, and program support.
Preferred expertise:
Instructor teaching dance based cardio classes such as Zumba, Rhythm Dancing, Line Dancing, Cardio Based Dance, or Music Driven classes. Instruction will primarily take place after 5:00 p.m., during the work week, and during lunch or non-working hours. Hours of instruction and location may vary due to class size and demand. Responsibilities May provide guidance, training, or informal leadership to staff and/or program participants. Provide wellness-related instruction, guidance, and support to employees through group sessions, individual consultations, and educational activities across one or more wellness domains. Assist in the development, implementation, and delivery of corporate wellness programs, initiatives, and events that promote physical, nutritional, and lifestyle health. Support employee engagement and motivation by promoting healthy behaviors, goal setting, and sustainable wellness practices. Monitor, document, and report participation, feedback, and general outcomes related to wellness activities to support continuous improvement. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and subject-matter experts to support wellness programming and align activities with organizational goals. Completes other job duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Principles of fitness, exercise instruction, and/or nutrition. Wellness program development and employee engagement strategies. Safe exercise practices and general health promotion concepts. Basic understanding of workplace wellness trends and best practices. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Instructional and facilitation skills for group and individual settings. Interpersonal skills to motivate, encourage, and support diverse employee populations. Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to adapt wellness content and delivery methods to varying audiences. Ability to manage multiple activities and adjust priorities as program needs evolve. Education & Experience Requirements High School Diploma or G.E.D. and five (5) years' experience in wellness instruction, fitness training, health education, or a related setting is required. Bachelor's degree in kinesiology, exercise science, health promotion, nutrition, wellness, public health, or a related field is preferred. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Requires a valid Texas Driver License or receipt of a valid Texas Driver's License within 90 days of relocation to Texas and a safe driving record, as measured by company policy. Preferred relevant certifications include : o Certified Personal Trainer (ACE, NASM, ACSM, NSCA) o Group Fitness Instructor Certification o Health Coach Certification o Nutrition or Wellness Certification (NBHWC) o CPR/AED and First Aid certification o Zumba Instructor Licensed Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
