Pediatric First Aid, CPR & AED Instructors must be comfortable leading classes with students from a variety of educational and professional backgrounds while maintaining current knowledge of evidence-based cardiac care and AHA instructional guidelines. Instructor Responsibilities Prepare for assigned courses before each class. Deliver engaging, hands-on American Heart Association CPR and First Aid courses. Set up, manage, and clean training equipment before and after classes. Complete all required course documentation and roster submissions. Travel to client locations within the Madison, Wisconsin area to provide on-site training as needed. Mileage for approved work-related travel will be reimbursed in accordance with Badger CPR Training policies. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist with curriculum updates or special projects when requested. Maintain instructor certifications at or above the level of courses being taught. Perform other duties as assigned.
IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT
Instructors MUST provide their own CPR training equipment, including a CPR training bag with a minimum of three (3) adult manikins and three (3) infant manikins. Applicants who do not have their own equipment will not be considered for this position. Minimum Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Current American Heart Association Instructor certification appropriate for the courses taught (BLS and/or Heartsaver) Affiliated with an AHA-approved Training Center Strong knowledge of current AHA guidelines and cardiac life support Experience teaching or presenting to groups preferred Ability to operate multimedia presentations and instructional technology Excellent verbal and written communication skills Professional demeanor and excellent customer service skills Ability to establish positive working relationships with students, businesses, healthcare organizations, and community partners Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism Strong organizational and time management skills Required Licensure & Certification Current American Heart Association Instructor certification (BLS and/or Heartsaver) Affiliated with an AHA-approved Training Center Reliable transportation Job Type Part-time Independent Contractor (1099) Benefits Flexible schedule Mileage reimbursement for approved travel Opportunities for recurring classes based on instructor availability and performance
