Job Description

Overview Responsibilities This entry-level position supports the improvement of clinical documentation quality and completeness in alignment with Infirmary Health (IH) guidelines. The role contributes to accurate inpatient coding and appropriate Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) assignment by promoting thorough and timely documentation. The position also plays a role in enhancing patient outcomes through improved data capture and communication.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
One of the following: Graduation from an accredited RN program with recent hospital experience Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) Working knowledge of federal, state and payer-specific regulations and policies pertaining to documentation, coding and reimbursement Proficiency in data analysis and spreadsheet software Strong leadership and interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Licensure, Registration, Certification:
One of the following: Current Alabama RN license Current Multi State RN License in accordance with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for Alabama• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) •Infirmary Health abides by the NLC requirements and guidelines for the state of
