This role is vital in maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and enhancing the quality of patient care through effective data management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and the operations of a medical office. Responsibilities Manage and supervise the health information department to ensure efficient operations. Oversee the collection, storage, and retrieval of patient health information. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and other privacy laws. Develop and implement policies and procedures for managing medical records. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation and coding practices. Train staff on health information systems and best practices in record management. Conduct regular audits to maintain data integrity and quality assurance. Stay updated on advancements in health information technology and recommend improvements. Skills Able to provide effective leadership Strong knowledge of medical terminology and coding practices. Experience with managing medical records in a healthcare setting.
