About the Role The Global Information Governance Operations Project Lead is an integral part of Latham's Global Information Governance (IG) team. This role will be responsible for supporting the workflow of a team responsible for assisting IG staff across the firm with the review, organization, management, retention, and disposition of information, while supporting other team members on all projects and other work handled by the IG Operations Center team to include participation in virtual teams. This role will be located in our Washington, DC office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence after the first two weeks of employment. Responsibilities & Qualifications Other key responsibilities include: Working with relevant Technology department personnel to properly configure and conduct IG-related reviews using litigation support applications Assisting the Senior Manager with providing centrally coordinated support to practice office IG Operations departments and offices without dedicated IG Operations personnel Managing or contributing to global file intake, release, disposition, and data access projects; ensuring compliance with policies, and ensuring completion of the process; responding to questions, and providing instruction and training as needed Advising attorneys, legal professionals and staff about information management best practices, data privacy and security issues, and other risk management issues Guiding the IG Operations Center in supporting records retention and disposition virtual teams; identifying files for retention, facilitating communication with attorneys and clients regarding file disposition, and ensuring accurate maintenance of records related to file disposition Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains We'd love to hear from you if you: Display strong leadership skills in organizing, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making to effectively support junior staff Demonstrate the ability to guide and ensure the compliance and accuracy of others' work Possess extensive knowledge of information governance, data security and privacy principles, best practices, and procedures And have: A bachelor's degree An advanced degree, preferably A CRM, IGP, and/or CIPP certification A minimum of five (5) years of relevant records and information management experience, preferably at a law firm Experience in other law firm positions having significant document organizational responsibilities may be considered in lieu of directly related Information Governance or Records experience A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience Benefits & Additional Information Successful candidates will not only be provided with an outstanding career opportunity and welcoming environment, but will also be provided with a generous total compensation package with bonuses awarded in recognition of both individual and firm performance.
