JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
Job Summary:
Provides operational leadership to Health Information Management staff by promoting innovation, process improvements, staff development, and a just culture. Participates in and oversees compliance and revenue cycle activities in accordance with Joint Commission standards, and federal and state laws. Performs data analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvements.
Education:
Position requires an associate's degree. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Registration/Certification/Licensure:
RHIA or RHIT, required and CCS, CPC, or CHPS, preferred.
Experience:
Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible experience managing HIM operations and digital workflows in an Electronic Health Record (EHR) environment.
Other Requirements:
Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements. Effectively communicates with all patient populations and staff by implementing organization-wide communication techniques as a daily practice. Demonstrated proficiency of computer skills necessary to effectively complete position requirements. Ability to work independently on and prioritize concurrent assignments, producing quality work. Demonstrated understanding of the EHR environment and impact of governmental requirements that mandates electronic health information data exchange, remote patient access to records, and electronic release of information.
