How you'll contribute A Health Information Management Coordinator who excels in this role: Preparation and processing of audits as requested by payors to include internal audits. Responsible for maintaining the Patient Portal which will include, communicating with patients, registration, assisting with password resets. Manages, prepares, scans, reviews, and AFI's hybrid medical records; analyzes documentation for accuracy and completeness; and assists in coordinating coverage for HIM functions and processes. Serves as the MModal Voice Recognition (VR) HIM representative. Oversees transcription-related account corrections within the MModal Fluency system on a daily basis, including monitoring Hold Queue and Rejection Lists. Utilizes the MModal Fluency system as needed to support transcription and documentation workflows. Resolves practitioner report issues in a timely manner. Assists with contacting physicians regarding delinquent reports. Assists in coordinating coverage for HIM functions and processes. Analyzes medical records for chart completion deficiencies in accordance with regulatory requirements and medical staff rules and regulations. Ensures deficiencies are assigned to the appropriate medical staff member and enters data for tracking and monitoring purposes. Reviews documentation and updates or clears deficiencies as appropriate. Serves as the point of contact for duplicate merging of medical records and account corrections. Answers telephone calls and assists visitors—including physicians, patients, and family members—while maintaining confidentiality. Performs other duties as assigned. What we're looking for
Education :
High school diploma or equivalent
  • Required Additional Coursework in Healthcare, Medical Terminology and/or Anatomy & Physiology
  • Preferred Licenses:
    RHIT, RHIA, and/or CMT accreditation
  • Preferred Minimum Work Experience Three (3) years Medical Transcription experience
  • Required Management/Supervisory experience
Preferred Skills :
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
