SummaryInterprets and responds to requests for protected health information. Ensures the privacy of the patient by safeguarding protected health information in the performance of duties. Fulfills release of information requests in an accurate and professional manner within timeframes according to departmental and organizational guidelines.
Job DutiesCompletes release of information processes to all requesters meeting all accuracy and productivity standards. Performs variety of clerical tasks such as answering telephone calls, scanning documents, responding to voicemail, and following-up with customers. Performs quality checks prior to releasing record requests to ensure the correct patient identification. Maintains security and confidentiality of Personal Health Information (PHI) for record access, review, and disclosure. Documents new and revised regulations and policies as a means of reference.
Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GED 1 year experience working with healthcare information. Ability to work under pressure with time constraints and productivity guidelines. Preferred QualificationsRHIA

- State of Pennsylvania or RHIT
- Registered Health Information Technician
- State of Pennsylvania Physical DemandsLift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use,
- patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
