Friendship is looking for a Full-Time Health Information Management Clerk to join our Friendship Health and Rehab team, located in Roanoke, VA. The Health Information Management Clerk plays a vital role in the organization and maintenance of patient and resident medical records. This position requires effective communication with co-workers and supervisors while adhering to established procedures. The responsibilities outlined below are essential functions of the role, but additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Shifts Available:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pmRoles & Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with inter-department personnel and other facility departments to ensure proper maintenance of medical records Organize medical records per established guidelines from licensing and regulatory agencies Create, assemble, check, collect, file and scan information to resident charts timely and accurately Ensure records are complete, signed, and indexed before filing Scan all physician notes and other pertinent information to electronic medical record to maintain a complete chart Collect and inspect resident charts for completion, notifying nursing department of incomplete records for correction Collect payment for medical record requests with completed request form Maintain tracking log to ensure compliance with regulatory requirementsQualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required Proficient typing skills and familiarity with general office equipment and computer applications Previous experience in Health Information/Medical Records is preferred but not mandatory Benefits forFull Time Positions:
