Responsibilities Monitor and supervise clients overnight to ensure safety and adherence to treatment plans Implement behavior intervention strategies based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles to support clients with autism spectrum disorders and neurodevelopmental disorders Conduct regular assessments of vital signs and observe behavioral changes to inform ongoing care Assist with medication administration following proper protocols while maintaining accurate medical documentation Utilize crisis management and de-escalation techniques to effectively respond to behavioral emergencies or agitation Support clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, feeding, and mobility assistance Maintain detailed electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring confidentiality of all medical records and documentation Collect data related to client behaviors and progress for treatment planning and reporting purposes Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and families regarding care plans, progress notes, and incident reports Participate in intake assessments and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care strategies Requirements Prior experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is highly preferred Knowledge of mental health conditions such as PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), substance use disorders, and related crisis intervention techniques Experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum or with neurodevelopmental disorders is a plus Strong understanding of special education principles and behavior management strategies Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in crisis intervention or behavior analysis are advantageous Ability to accurately measure vital signs and perform basic medical procedures within scope of practice Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems, medical terminology, HIPAA compliance, and maintaining patient confidentiality Excellent communication skills for client interaction, documentation, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly while applying de-escalation techniques effectively This role is an excellent fit for compassionate professionals eager to support behavioral health initiatives while developing their skills in a rewarding setting.
