Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled local Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our dynamic team in the Mojave area. As an EMT, you will play a crucial role in providing immediate medical care to patients in emergency situations. This position requires quick thinking, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. You will be responsible for assessing patient conditions, delivering appropriate medical interventions, while local EMS is dispatched. This is a standby position and will be a report to location. Duties Respond promptly to emergency situations and assess the situation on-site. Perform triage to prioritize patient care based on the severity of their condition. Administer basic life support and advanced airway management as required. Utilize medical terminology accurately when communicating with healthcare professionals. Provide urgent care services including wound management and stabilization of patients. Assist in heavy lifting of patients and equipment as necessary during emergencies. Maintain and operate emergency medical equipment. Document patient information and treatment provided in compliance with protocols. Requirements Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in California is required. Knowledge of anatomy and emergency medicine principles is essential. Experience in an emergency room or urgent care setting is preferred. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare teams. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with patient care. Familiarity with triage processes and medical terminology is advantageous.
