Job Summary:
Performs a variety of duties involving the observation of cardiac monitors, interpretation and documentation of Cardiac Rhythm strips. Provides personal patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN).
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred Medical secretary/receptionist experience:
Preferred Licenses/Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS)
American Heart Association:
Required Facility Specific License/Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy:
Required Essential Functions:
Assists with patient care activities, as needed, under the guidance of the Charge Nurse or shift leader. Maintains work area(s) and equipment through cleaning, stocking and ordering of supplies. Takes and records vital signs, including pain scale according to established policies and procedures. Performs clerical duties, including chart management and maintaining unit supplies and forms. Manages front desk, assembling and maintaining medical charts. Maintains work area(s) and equipment through cleaning, stocking and ordering of supplies. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
