University Schools is seeking compassionate, dependable, and organized individuals to join our team as Health Technician/Clerk Substitutes . This position provides substitute coverage for our school health offices and is ideal for individuals with healthcare experience who enjoy working with children in a supportive educational environment. As a Health Technician/Clerk Substitute, you will work under the direction of the School Nurse to provide first aid, administer medications, assist with delegated nursing procedures, maintain confidential student health records, and help ensure students receive the care they need throughout the school day. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a collaborative K-12 school community. Essential Responsibilities Evaluate and provide first aid and basic health care to students visiting the health office. Administer medications in accordance with Colorado law, school policy, and delegated nursing procedures. Perform delegated medical procedures under the supervision of the School Nurse. Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student illness, injury, or health concerns. Maintain confidential student health records, including immunizations, medication logs, Health Care Action Plans (HCAPs), accident reports, and vision and hearing screening records. Document student visits using the school's electronic health record system. Coordinate student health needs with teachers, administrators, parents, and the School Nurse. Assist with vision and hearing screenings and immunization clinics. Maintain inventory of health office supplies and equipment. Prepare medications for field trips. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant health office. Attend required trainings and complete assigned professional development. Perform general clerical duties including correspondence, forms, reports, and data entry. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. One year of related healthcare, medical office, or clerical experience preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Required Certifications Candidates must possess or obtain the following before working with students: Colorado Medication Administration Training for Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) Delegation of Nursing Tasks from the supervising Registered Nurse Current First Aid/CPR certification Annual CART Training OSHA and Universal Precautions training Additional health office certifications as required by the supervising School Nurse A successful criminal background check is required before employment. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist students as needed throughout the school day. Employees may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, communicable illnesses, medications, and varying indoor and outdoor environmental conditions. Compensation:
