Job Description

Lee County is looking for motivated and dependable EMTs to provide emergency medical care to the community. In this role, you will respond to 9-1-1 calls, support patient care, and work as part of an ambulance crew in a fast-paced environment. Your work directly supports emergency response and helps people during some of the most critical moments of their lives. This position is a strong fit for EMTs who want meaningful work, consistent scheduling, and opportunities to earn additional income through overtime.
Base Pay:
$48,249 annually (fixed rate for this position) Overtime opportunities are not included in this total and may significantly increase annual earnings. Your Opportunities Qualified candidates will be invited to an in-person selection process that includes: Clinical written examination Practical scenario assessment Physical agility testing
Testing Dates:
June 19 or June 22
First Interviews:
June 26 or June 29
Second Interviews:
Scheduled upon advancement This process is designed to identify professionals who can think clearly, act decisively, and perform at a high level in real-world emergencies.
What You Will Do:
Provide prehospital medical care following Lee County EMS protocols Assist with patient assessments, treatments, and safe transport Deliver care with professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail Function as a reliable ambulance crew member during emergency responses Complete accurate and timely patient care reports Perform routine equipment, supply, and vehicle checks Maintain a clean, safe, and operational ambulance Operate emergency vehicles safely and in accordance with policy Participate in station duties, restocking, and daily operations Engage in ongoing training and skills development Perform other related duties as assigned
What We're Looking For:
High School graduation or GED equivalent. Current State of Florida EMT license Current CPR certification Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Ability to complete a 16-hour Emergency Vehicle Operations Safety Course within 30 days of hire Compliance with Chapter 64-J1 of the Florida Administrative Code and applicable Florida Statutes Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team Work Schedule & Overtime Opportunities Shifts may include 8-, 12-, or 24-hour rotations Includes weekends and holidays Overtime opportunities are available and may be frequent based on operational needs This is a 24/7 position serving a 24/7 community.
