Schedule:
First Shift Call for this position is typically 1-2 weekend call shifts (one overnight, e.g., Saturday to Sunday) and 2-3 weekday overnight call shifts per 6‑week schedule.

As a comprehensive acute care facility, the hospital offers a full scope of medical and surgical services, including cardiovascular, general surgery, orthopedics, and women's services with labor and delivery, alongside a future NICU. Opening with 124 beds, the 455,000 square foot hospital will be able to expand to up to 240 beds. State-of-the-art facilities include operating rooms, catheterization labs, interventional radiology, a vascular lab, an ICU and a full-service emergency department. For labor and delivery, the hospital features six private suites thoughtfully designed to make you feel at home while providing exceptional medical care. Position Summary:
Demonstrates through clinical practice a clear understanding ofsterile technique and has a working knowledge of the specialized instrumentation and equipment required for a variety of special procedures. Responsibilities Essential Functions
  • Reviews preference and verifies case cart completely prior to case.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of an orderly surgical field and for consistently passing instruments and supplies quickly and efficiently to the surgeon.
  • Able to anticipate and prioritize the needs of the various steps associated with the procedure.
  • Takes part in sponge, needle and instruments counts as dictated by the procedure.
  • Responsible for maintaining the surgicalspecimen in a manner which identifies and preservesthem for pathology evaluation.
  • Assistsin ordering and stocking ofspecialty supplies under the direction of managementstaff and departmental guidelines.
  • Transports and delivers items, equipment, and medications (excluding controlled substances and IV chemotherapy drugs) throughout the facility.
  • May have limited accessto areasstoring medications.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions:
  • Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patientrights and compliance with the standards ofregulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Practices efficient use of time and supplies.
  • Maintains a clear,safe and organized work area.
Qualifications Education/Training:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Successful completion of:
  • Surgical Technology training program; or
  • Orlando Health training program
Licensure/Certification:
Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
Experience:
Two (2) years surgical tech experience. (CST certification may substitute for the two (2) years of surgical tech experience).
Qualifications:
Education/Training:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Successful completion of:
Surgical Technology training program; or Orlando Health training program
Licensure/Certification:
Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
Experience:
