Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) 899 - Normal, IL 61761 Quick Apply Overview Salary Range $21.00 - $25.00 Hourly Position Type PRN Job Shift Any Education Level High School Travel Percentage None Category Health Care Quick Apply Description The emergency medical technicians (EMTs) respond to to medical emergencies and deliver patient care, support, and evaluation in a pre-hospital setting.
This generally includes assessing the patient, determining the proper emergency care, and administering treatment. EMTs also help with transporting patients safely between hospitals and care facilities.

Job requirements:
- Examine and evaluate patients to determine necessary care
- Provide patients with emergency care by utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment
- Document patient information, condition, and treatment
- Maintain patient confidentiality and perform all care with respect for patient rights
- Transport patients in accordance with outined policies and procedures
- Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients
- Operate and drive ambulance in conjunction with applicable safety policies and laws
- Provide basic life support and gather patient data.

Qualifications Skills/Knowledge:
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Strong sense of professionalism.
- Proficiency in relevant software and technology systems.
- Write simple correspondence or reports
- Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees and/or managers
- Knowledge of company protocols, operational procedures, and safety policies
- Knowledge of methods and techniques for providing on-site emergency medical services
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
- Ability to follow written or verbal step-by-step instructions
- Ability to concentrate, think, and learn
- Ability to hear, see, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs. Qualifications/ Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Current EMT certification/license in the state of practice
- Current CPR certification
- Must possess a valid driver's license in the state of practice
- 1 year of experience in an emergency care setting preferred
