General Statement of Duties:
The MR Assistant performs a variety of tasks related to Magnetic Resonance and CT patient examination screening, preparation and patient care in order to assist the MR Technologist in the daily operations of the hospital. The position prepares paperwork and computer documentation lending support to the MR Technologist providing a continuum of patient care.
Essential Duties:
Assists with positioning, moving and lifting patients while in the MRI and CT scan room under guidance from the MR Technologist. Assists in the computer processing and preparation of patients arriving for a MRI and CT examination. Prescreens patients, obtaining a thorough history ensuring that the patient is safe to enter into the scan room. Assists patients in removing all metal, gowning, walking, and transport to and from scan room. Assists in patient care activities as directed by licensed personnel. Helps prepare the patient emotionally and answers questions about their pending exam. Relays special concerns to the MR Technologist. Helps to monitor patient as needed pre and post exam. Obtains and maintains linen/laundry and supplies for various areas of the department as directed. Assists in the cleaning and placement of equipment as directed. Assists in the cleaning of various areas of the department using appropriate aseptic technique.
Requirements:
High School diploma/GED required No prior experience required, 1-2 years of related experience preferred Specialty training beyond high school strongly preferred Certified Nursing Assistant licensed in the State of Indiana preferred Related certification from one of the following: American Association of Medical Assistants, Registered Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician must be obtained within 1-year of employment BLS required OrthoIndy is an Equal Opportunity Employer
