ER Technician Part-Time | 24 hours | Third Shift Emergency Department | Corbin, KY The Emergency Department is a 28-bed level III, emergency department, established to provide care for individuals with acute medical or surgical illnesses or injuries for which immediate medical attention is required or desired. Professional caregiver working under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse. Responsible for providing assigned care according to scope of practice. Has adequate knowledge to approach patients of all age groups. All employees will continually monitor and adhere to safety responsibilities and initiatives
Description:
Assists with patient admission, orientation, and triage in the Emergency Department. Obtains and documents vital signs, weights, and patient information. Performs and communicates results of time-sensitive EKGs. Collects and labels specimens according to policy. Assists with wound care, splinting, and specimen collection during procedures. Transports patients and assists with transfers and discharges. Monitors patients, recognizing and reporting changes or life-threatening conditions. Maintains clean, stocked, and safe patient care areas. Provides clerical support and assists nursing staff as needed. Adheres to all safety, infection control, and hospital policies.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
