Job Description

Find your calling at Mercy! The Digestive Health Technician assists healthcare professionals in treating digestive system disorders. Responsibilities encompass preparing patients for medical procedures, managing diagnostic equipment, collecting, and examining samples, and offering care and education after procedures. The Digestive Health Technician works closely with nursing staff and other medical staff to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.

Experience:
Prior work with the public and customer service. Prior experience working in a health care setting, preferred. Prior experience as a Nurse Assistant, preferred.
Required Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of a recognized Nurse Assistant training course.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course required within one month of hire. Completion of PCA competencies within 3 months of hire.
Preferred Certifications:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Minimum Physical Requirements:
Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties. Why Mercy?
