Job Description

Overview Join our compassionate team as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA), where you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals requiring support with daily activities and personal care. This paid position offers an energizing environment dedicated to providing respectful, personalized care that promotes independence, dignity, and well-being. As a PCA, you will be a trusted companion and caregiver, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve through attentive support and compassionate service. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary. Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Support clients in community settings or residential facilities by providing companionship, engaging in social activities, and fostering independence. Maintain clean and safe environments by performing light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and organizing living spaces. Document care activities meticulously, including patient observations, medication administration, and any incidents or concerns. Requirements Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional training in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is advantageous. Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist with patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Strong observational skills for monitoring patient health status and recognizing signs of distress or deterioration. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, patients, families, and healthcare providers.
