Job Description

Patient Care Technician - Medical Eye Specialists Surgery Center MES Surgery Center is a fast-paced ophthalmology ambulatory surgery center dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. As a Patient Care Technician, you'll play a vital supporting role in the smooth operation of our pre- and post-operative areas — helping patients feel safe, comfortable, and cared for throughout their surgical experience. In this position, you'll assist clinical staff with patient transport and positioning, obtain vital signs, perform bay turnovers between patients, maintain a clean and well-stocked environment, and provide warm, attentive care to every patient who walks through our doors. You'll work alongside surgeons, nurses, and front desk staff in a collaborative setting where reliability, attention to detail, and a positive attitude matter as much as technical skill. This role is a great fit for someone who is friendly and professional, stays busy without being asked, and would genuinely enjoy making patients feel comfortable and reassured. While it is preferred, no prior healthcare experience is required. Duties Maintains a clean, organized, and efficient pre/post-operative environment, including patient bay turnover, room cleaning, stocking supplies and linens, and keeping common areas clutter-free. Assists with patient care by verifying patient identity, obtaining and documenting vital signs (after competency validation), transporting and positioning patients, and providing comfort measures. Assists with facility upkeep including inventory, blanket warmers, daily logs, deep cleaning, and restocking sanitation supplies. Demonstrates familiarity with the surgical area, equipment, and center workflows while working in a calm and professional manner. Provides front desk receptionist coverage and performs other duties as assigned.
