In person About Cliffside Park EMS Cliffside Park EMS is seeking dependable, motivated Emergency Medical Technicians to join our municipal EMS team. Our EMTs respond to emergency and non-emergency assignments while providing high-quality Basic Life Support care to residents and visitors of Cliffside Park. We are looking for EMTs who take pride in patient care, teamwork, safe ambulance operations, accurate documentation, and representing the department professionally. Responsibilities Respond to emergency and non-emergency assignments. Assess, treat, and transport patients in accordance with applicable standards of care, department policies, procedures, and protocols. Provide Basic Life Support treatment within the EMT scope of practice. Safely operate ambulances and department vehicles with due regard for patients, crew members, and the public. Use department radios and communication equipment appropriately when receiving assignments, coordinating responses, and contacting medical control. Communicate effectively with patients, families, EMS partners, dispatchers, hospital staff, medical control, law enforcement, fire departments, and other public safety agencies. Complete accurate and timely patient care documentation for all required patient contacts. Inspect, clean, restock, and maintain ambulances, medical equipment, and assigned station areas. Promptly report vehicle problems, equipment failures, safety concerns, and operational issues. Maintain required certifications, continuing education, and department competencies. Share driving, patient care, documentation, equipment checks, and station responsibilities with your partner. Maintain appropriate appearance, conduct, and professionalism while representing Cliffside Park EMS. Perform additional EMS-related duties assigned by department management. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Current New Jersey EMT certification, National Registry EMT certification, or current New York EMT-Basic certification accepted by the department. Current American Heart Association BLS Provider or BLS Instructor certification. Valid driver's license issued by a United States state. ICS-100 certification. ICS-200 certification. ICS-700 certification. Hazardous Materials Awareness certification. Ability to successfully complete the Cliffside Park EMS orientation and competency evaluation process. CEVO or EVOC certification, or the ability to complete an approved emergency vehicle operations course within one month of hire. Preferred Qualifications Two or more years of Basic Life Support EMS experience. Prior 911 EMS experience. Hazardous Materials Operations certification. Cliffside Park residency. Military experience.
