Performs assigned duties under the direction of the Registered Professional Nurse. Demonstrates positive behavior and the ability to implement a plan of care. This position requires a multi-skilled worker who will perform a variety of tasks related to the direct and indirect care of the antepartum and postpartum patient and in the maintenance of a clean and organized environment. The OB Technician is certified or grandfathered to work in the Surgical Suite.

Qualifications:

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

One year of hospital PCT experience. Previous OB Tech or Surgical Tech experience in the acute care setting.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification. Certified Surgical Technician or Certified OB Technician (or provides evidence of meeting the requirements of the NJ Surgical Technology Certification law in effect as of 12/21/2011)
