Summary Assists with the delivery of patient care based on the medical plan of treatment and protocols using a patient, family-centered approach. Functions as part of a special event medicine team for concerts, sporting events, mass gathering events, and trade shows. Job Duties Functions as a department team member to support unit and hospital goals and objectives. Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies to optimize delivery of patient care and treatment. Provides and maintains a safe environment for patient and special event medicine team. Utilizes assessment and stabilization skills in the provision of patient care. Upholds policies and procedures of the critical care transport program while representing it in a positive and professional manner. Maintains medical equipment, supplies, ambulances, and crew quarters in an organized and clean manner. Completes a checklist at start of each assigned shift to ensure operational readiness is maintained. Performs activities utilizing equipment and supplies according to hospital policies. Completes all documentation including patient care charting. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma/GED 1 year Experience working as an Emergency Medical Technician Computer skills. Verbal and written communication skills. BLS

Examples:

Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift.

• Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
