a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } Join UPMC Children's Hospital North Surgery Center as a Full-Time Patient Care Technician (PCT) and be part of a team dedicated to delivering exceptional care to our pediatric patients. This role offers a steady schedule of five 8-hour daytime shifts, primarily Monday through Friday , along with minimal weekends, holidays off, and free onsite parking —supporting a strong work-life balance. In this position, you will play a vital role in supporting patient care and surgical operations while working alongside a collaborative, highly skilled clinical team. We are looking for candidates with BLS certification who are passionate about patient care; previous PCT experience is preferred . Responsibilities:
a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } Supports department operations, quality initiatives, and process improvements Takes ownership of assignments, works efficiently, and seeks help when needed Demonstrates professionalism, respectful communication, and teamwork across departments Follows all policies, safety standards, and documentation requirements Provides direct patient care: Assists with ADLs (bathing, feeding, mobility, toileting, repositioning) Collects vitals, blood glucose, I&O, weights, and specimens Supports procedures, therapies, and patient transport (including monitored patients) Reports changes in patient condition to the RN Performs core and advanced technical tasks as applicable: Phlebotomy, EKGs, point-of-care testing, bladder scans Foley care (insertion/removal as appropriate), simple dressings, IV removal/insertion Telemetry support and basic arrhythmia (if trained) Assists with unit operations: Answers call lights/phones, transports patients, passes meal trays, completes clerical tasks Ensures equipment issues are reported promptly Supports patient and family education under RN direction and maintains a safe, inclusive care environment
