Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to join our team and provide exceptional support to individuals in various care settings. As a PCA, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by delivering personalized care with energy and enthusiasm. Your efforts will help create a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment where individuals can thrive. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance Monitor patient vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability Support medication administration following proper protocols and HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental well-being Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal service Maintain cleanliness of resident living areas, including cleaning rooms, bathrooms, and common spaces Use equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts safely to transfer individuals with mobility challenges Observe and report any changes in residents' health or behavior to nursing staff or supervisors Follow care plans meticulously, ensuring all tasks align with each resident's personalized needs and safety standards Requirements Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable Knowledge of patient observation techniques and dementia or Alzheimer's care is preferred Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with transfers using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and team members Demonstrated understanding of home & community care practices, including medication administration and vital signs monitoring Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is advantageous Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful, person-centered care Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed Join us in making a meaningful impact through energetic caregiving!
