Job Description

Overview Join our compassionate team as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities and personal care. In this vital role, you will provide attentive, respectful, and personalized care to promote independence, safety, and well-being. Whether working in assisted living facilities, home health settings, or community-based programs, you'll be a key contributor to creating a warm and supportive environment for those in your care. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while making a positive impact every day. Responsibilities Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior, reporting findings accurately to healthcare professionals Support medication administration following proper protocols and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines to ensure confidentiality Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet individual dietary needs and preferences Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to safely transfer residents with mobility challenges Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks and adhering to infection control standards Document care plans, patient observations, and any incidents thoroughly to ensure continuity of care Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring Certifications such as CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), First Aid, and HIPAA compliance are required or preferred Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's/dementia/memory care needs, autism spectrum disorder or hospice care is advantageous Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs Strong communication skills with the ability to follow care plans precisely and work collaboratively with healthcare teams A compassionate attitude combined with patience, reliability, and attention to detail Join us in providing exceptional care that enhances the quality of life for those we serve.
