Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to join our vibrant caregiving team. In this vital role, you will provide personalized support to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living communities, nursing homes, and home care environments. Your energy and commitment will help enhance the quality of life for those with diverse needs, from dementia and Alzheimer's to developmental disabilities and hospice care. Responsibilities Observe and monitor patients' conditions, including vital signs and overall well-being, ensuring safety at all times Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts Administer medications accurately following medical documentation protocols while maintaining HIPAA compliance for patient privacy Support patients with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, utilizing specialized techniques to promote comfort and safety Record detailed medical information in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and maintain precise medical records Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, wound care, and hospice support as directed by healthcare professionals Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning in accordance with dietary restrictions and preferences Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment for residents or clients Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care tailored to individual needs Use medical terminology confidently when documenting or communicating patient status to ensure clarity and accuracy Experience Prior experience working in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home health environments preferred Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia is highly valued Knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR systems for documentation purposes is advantageous Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) required; additional certifications such as medication administration or hospice care are a plus Demonstrated ability to observe patient conditions meticulously and respond promptly to changing needs Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to long-term care settings enhances effectiveness in this role Previous caregiving experience involving activities like assisting with ADLs, medication management, or working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable Join us as a PCA and become an essential part of a compassionate team dedicated to enriching lives through attentive and respectful care.
