Job Description

Job Summary The Night Technician plays a vital role in supporting veterinarians and ensuring the health and safety of horses staying at Valley Equine Reproduction overnight . This position requires attention to detail, strong horse-handling skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Duties Monitor horses across the ranch, including yearlings in the barn and mares in turnout, to ensure their overall health and well-being. Check and maintain adequate water supply for all horses. Conduct routine wellness checks and promptly report concerns. Assist veterinarians with nighttime emergencies, providing skilled support as needed. Administer IV and IM injections and other medications as directed. Maintain a clean and orderly environment in barns, the laboratory, main stocks, and office areas. Requirements Proficiency in administering IV and IM injections. Solid horse-handling skills and awareness of equine behavior. Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations. Strong attention to detail and commitment to animal care. Excellent communication skills and teamwork mindset. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently overnight. Comfortable in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
